OverviewOur client is seeking DC Operators to join their 2nd-shift distribution team. This is an onsite, hands-on role responsible for receiving, handling, processing, and shipping customer materials while maintaining strong safety, reliability, and operational excellence. This is a
contract-to-hire opportunity.
Key Responsibilities- Operate warehouse equipment
- Handle shipping, receiving, packaging, and general warehouse processes
- Perform respooling (machine operation) - no prior experience required; training provided
- Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols
- Meet department expectations for all assigned job functions
- Seek opportunities for cross-training across various DC tasks
- Follow all documented procedures and work instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards
- Assemble spools as needed
- Perform minor equipment and machinery repairs
- Attend team huddles and follow attendance guidelines
- Communicate professionally with team members, sales, and management
- Build strong teamwork and positive working relationships
Preferred Qualifications- Familiarity with SAP (not required - can be trained)
- Experience operating warehouse machinery
- Strong communication skills
- Solid understanding of safety standards and procedures
Technical Skills & Requirements- High school diploma or GED
- 3-12 months of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer skills; ability to work in a Windows environment
Physical Demands- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and use of hands
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Work near moving mechanical parts, heights, fumes, and varying noise levels
- Occasional exposure to weather, chemicals, electrical risk, and vibration
- Required PPE: safety shoes, eye protection, fall protection
