Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance & Repair Manager to oversee the maintenance, inspection, repair, testing, and regulatory compliance of a large fleet of ISO tank containers across North America. Based in Houston, TX, with a hybrid work model post-probation, this role is vital in ensuring optimal fleet availability, managing third-party repair vendors, controlling maintenance expenses, and upholding compliance standards. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise, project management capabilities, and a customer-focused approach to support the company's logistics and leasing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate maintenance, inspection, repair, testing, and certification of specialized tank containers through an established network of third-party repair facilities.
  • Prioritize repair activities to reduce equipment downtime while meeting customer commitments.
  • Monitor repair progress and ensure equipment is returned to service safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Review repair recommendations and develop the most cost-effective maintenance strategies.
  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with repair depots, inspection facilities, and maintenance vendors.
  • Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, turnaround, cost, and service levels.
  • Audit repair work to ensure adherence to company standards and industry regulations.
  • Resolve technical and operational issues with external service providers.
  • Ensure all maintenance, inspections, repairs, and testing activities comply with applicable DOT, IMDG, ADR, RID, CSC, and other relevant industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and inspection records.
  • Support regulatory audits and internal compliance initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence across maintenance operations.
  • Monitor maintenance costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze repair trends and recommend preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Track and report key performance indicators including fleet availability, repair turnaround times, vendor performance, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for maintenance-related inquiries from customers and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Sales, and Technical departments to resolve equipment issues and support strategic projects and fleet modifications.

Requirements
  • Proven experience managing maintenance and repair activities for industrial equipment, transportation assets, or specialized fleets.
  • Strong understanding of inspection, maintenance planning, repair processes, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Experience coordinating and managing third-party maintenance vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on operational excellence.
