Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Nutanix / VMware Administrator with strong systems administration, virtualization, infrastructure, and troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Nutanix AHV, VMware, Windows/Linux environments, Active Directory, storage, networking, disaster recovery, patching, and automation.

The candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, possess excellent technical and communication skills, and be comfortable supporting critical infrastructure in a highly regulated data center environment.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong experience with Windows Server operating systems.

Strong experience with Linux operating systems, including:

User administration

File systems

Software installation and management

System services

Understanding of server hardware and various storage RAID configurations.

Strong experience with Active Directory management, including:

Domain administration

Group Policy Objects (GPO)

Backup and recovery

In-depth knowledge of Nutanix hypervisor migration best practices - Required.

In-depth knowledge of VMware Hypervisor migration to Nutanix AHV - Required.

Hands-on experience with Nutanix cluster deployment - Required.

Understanding of fundamental networking concepts and troubleshooting, including:

DHCP

DNS

Routing

Firewalls

Fundamental understanding of security principles, including:

Access Control Lists (ACLs)

Encryption

Scripting/automation experience using one or more of the following:

PowerShell

Bash

KSH

Perl

Experience monitoring system health and performance.

Ability to analyze system statistics, identify bottlenecks, and lead optimization efforts.

Experience with disaster recovery planning and performing backup/restore activities for systems, applications, and data.

Experience with patch and firmware installation and management.

Preferred Skills

Understanding of baselining and experience utilizing Industrial Defender.

Knowledge of dark-site patching for Nutanix hypervisors, Nutanix components, and other hypervisors.

Knowledge of NERC CIP compliance and its impact on data center best practices.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Technology or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of IT Support / Systems Administration experience.

Strong technical knowledge across servers, virtualization, networks, and storage.

Strong scripting and automation experience.

Be willing to work overtime and maintain flexible working hours for emergencies or scheduled maintenance outside normal business hours.

Have reliable means of transportation to travel to various company locations.

Possess a valid driver's license.

Work Arrangement

Candidates must be comfortable with onsite work, occasional travel to supported locations, on-call responsibilities, overtime, and flexible working hours when required.
