Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Atlassian Solutions Architect to lead the design, implementation, and scaling of a centralized enterprise intake and portfolio management platform using Atlassian Cloud tools. This role will be responsible for architecting end-to-end solutions across multiple Jira projects, enabling executive-level visibility, prioritization, and delivery tracking for large-scale engineering initiatives, including Network Automation and Service Enablement.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with executive stakeholders and delivering enterprise-wide Atlassian implementations, with a focus on scalable architecture and portfolio reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Enterprise Intake & Workflow Architecture

• Design and implement a centralized intake portal for engineering requests (Network Automation, AI/ML, Service Enablement).
• Architect parent-child relationships across multiple Jira projects.
• Standardize intake, triage, prioritization, and execution workflows.
• Establish governance models for intake lifecycle management.

2. Portfolio & Executive Reporting

• Build executive dashboards for real-time visibility into:
  • Intake volume and trends
  • Strategic alignment
  • Delivery progress and health
  • Cross-team dependencies
  • Capacity vs demand
• Design portfolio-level KPIs aligned with business outcomes.
• Implement cross-project roll-up reporting across teams and programs.

3. Atlassian Platform Architecture & Engineering

• Lead architecture and configuration of:
  • Jira Software (Cloud)
  • Jira Service Management
  • Advanced Roadmaps / Jira Roadmaps
  • Jira Align (if applicable)
• Develop custom solutions using Atlassian Forge.
• Implement automation rules for workflows, reporting, and notifications.
• Integrate Jira with other enterprise tools using REST APIs.

4. Stakeholder Management & Leadership

• Collaborate with VPs, Directors, Product Owners, and Engineering Leaders.
• Translate business requirements into scalable Jira solutions.
• Conduct workshops and act as a trusted Atlassian advisor.

5. Governance & Best Practices

• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Define best practices for Jira configurations, permissions, and data hygiene.
• Provide documentation, training, and enablement for users and admins.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with Jira Cloud (Software & Service Management)
• Expertise in designing complex workflows, schemes, and issue hierarchies
• Experience with Advanced Roadmaps / Jira Align
• Strong knowledge of Atlassian Automation and Forge
• Experience with REST APIs and integrations

Portfolio & Reporting

• Proven experience building executive dashboards and reports
• Strong understanding of portfolio-level reporting and KPIs
• Experience with cross-project rollups

Enterprise Experience

• Experience delivering large-scale Atlassian implementations
• Strong knowledge of Agile and SAFe frameworks
• Ability to balance standardization and team flexibility

Required Experience

• 8 12+ years working with Atlassian tools
• 5+ years designing enterprise Jira solutions
• 3+ years supporting executive/portfolio reporting
• Experience working with senior leadership (VP/Director level)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI/ML, platform engineering, or network automation teams
• Telecom or large enterprise infrastructure background
• Experience integrating Jira with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
• Experience building centralized intake portals

Certifications (Preferred)

• Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator (Cloud)
• Jira Service Management Certification
• SAFe Agilist / SPC
• PMP / PMI-ACP
