Data Analytics Contractor

Overview: This is a hands-on Data Specialist role combining data engineering, data analysis, and some data modeling/architecture. The position will initially be a one-person setup, with potential to expand into a team as the project grows.

Core Responsibilities:

• Build and manage data pipelines
• Extract and integrate data from external systems
• Work with large datasets (1TB+, millions of rows)
• Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures (currently taking 30 45 mins)
• Implement medallion architecture (raw, staging, serving layers)
• Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI
• Analyze data and independently propose solutions

Mandatory Technical Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (pipeline creation, external integrations)
• Strong PostgreSQL experience (SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning)
• Advanced Power BI (complex filters, dynamic dashboards)
• Experience handling large-scale datasets and ETL processes

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Data modeling and architecture design
• Experience integrating multiple data sources
• Ability to generate insights from data
• Exposure to columnar databases or tools like Databricks (future scope)
• Industry experience (finance, retail, etc.)
