Role: Senior Application .Net Support Engineer - Retail domain
Location : Fort Washington, PA 19034 (Hybrid)
Position Summary:-
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Application Support Engineer with strong expertise in .NET technologies, SQL Server, SSIS, and retail domain applications. This is a critical, highly technical role focused on ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of customer-facing and backend business applications.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for Level 2/Level 3 production support, troubleshooting complex application issues, maintaining database systems, automating operational processes, and collaborating with both technical and business teams to resolve customer-impacting issues in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Provide L2/L3 production and application support for enterprise retail applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer-facing software and system issues across proprietary and third-party platforms
- Monitor production systems, interfaces, batch jobs, and application performance
- Support and maintain .NET applications, SQL Server databases, and SSIS packages
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions for recurring incidents
- Utilize PowerShell, T-SQL, and automation tools to optimize backend processes and operational workflows
- Develop internal support utilities and tools to improve operational efficiency
- Work closely with technical and non-technical teams to resolve production and customer-impacting issues
- Participate in production release engineering and deployment support on a rotating basis
- Analyze SQL queries and perform performance tuning and optimization
- Ensure adherence to SLA commitments and ITIL support processes
- Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge base articles
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Application Support / Production Support / Systems Analysis
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- .NET / ASP.NET / C#
- SQL Server, T-SQL
- SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
- PowerShell scripting
- Experience supporting enterprise retail or eCommerce applications
- Strong database troubleshooting and query optimization skills
- Experience with incident management, defect resolution, and release support
- Hands-on experience with batch processing and job monitoring
- Familiarity with ticketing and monitoring tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, or Remedy
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CRM platforms or customer support systems
- Experience with automation tools and AI-assisted operational workflows
- Knowledge of POS systems, merchandising, warehouse management, inventory, or order management systems
- Experience working in Agile and ITIL-based support environments
- Exposure to Azure or cloud-based infrastructure environments
Domain Experience
- Retail domain experience is required
- Experience supporting customer-facing retail applications, eCommerce platforms, warehouse operations, or order processing systems is highly preferred
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
