Role:Databricks Enterprise Architect
Location: Remote
W2 or 1099 only.
A life sciences enterprise is investing in a modern Databricks Lakehouse as the foundation
of its data strategy across research, clinical, and commercial domains. We are seeking a
hands-on Databricks Enterprise Architect to own the target-state architecture, set the data
strategy, and lead the platform from design through adoption.
This is a senior, strategic role for an architect who can operate at two levels at once:
defining the enterprise data vision for executive stakeholders, and making the concrete
platform, governance, and pipeline decisions that make that vision real. You will be the
technical authority on the Databricks platform and the person who translates business
objectives into a scalable, governed, compliant data architecture.
Required Qualifications
10+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data platform roles, with
3+ years hands-on Databricks at enterprise scale.
Deep, demonstrable expertise across the Databricks platform: Unity Catalog, Delta
Lake, Spark, medallion architecture, and pipeline orchestration.
Direct experience enabling Databricks Genie (AI/BI) or comparable self-service and
conversational analytics capabilities, including the semantic and data modeling work
that supports it.
Proven track record setting enterprise-level data strategy and target-state architecture,
not only implementing to someone else’s design.
Strong command of at least one major cloud (AWS or Azure) and its integration with
Databricks.
Experience designing data governance frameworks: access control, lineage, cataloging,
and data quality at scale.
Ability to communicate architecture and strategy clearly to both executive and technical
audiences.
