Our client is seeking a Director, Digital Engineering & Automation to join their team. The Director, Digital Engineering & Automation leads the execution and delivery of enterprise automation, artificial intelligence, and application development capabilities across the organization. This role enables scalable automation, modern development practices, and AI-driven solutions that improve productivity, simplify processes, and drive measurable business outcomes. This role combines leadership and hands-on execution, actively engaging in solution design,
development, and problem solving while building and scaling a high-performing team. The Director partners with business and IT leaders to introduce new technologies, drive adoption, and support the development of an automation-first, engineering-led culture.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead execution of enterprise automation, artificial intelligence, and application development strategy
- Design and deliver automation and development solutions including robotic process automation, workflow automation, AI-enabled agents, and modern application development
- Implement and evolve technology platforms supporting automation, low-code and no-code development, and custom applications
- Develop reusable components, services, and design patterns to support scalable and consistent delivery
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and improve operational efficiency across functions
- Partner with business and IT leaders to translate opportunities into delivered solutions with measurable outcomes
- Build and scale the digital engineering team, including internal resources and external partners
- Manage resource planning, delivery timelines, and vendor coordination to ensure successful execution
- Establish and enforce governance for development standards, automation practices, and AI usage
- Collaborate with Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Data and Analytics teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions
- Support integration of data, application programming interfaces, and embedded intelligence into automation and applications
- Drive adoption of new technologies and lead upskilling efforts across IT
- Implement repeatable automation frameworks across RPA, workflows, and AI-enabled solutions
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance automation capabilities and engineering practices
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required
- Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in software development, automation, or digital technology roles
- Hands-on experience delivering automation and application development solutions
- Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and agent-based solutions in enterprise environments
- Experience implementing and scaling technology platforms and solution patterns
- Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable productivity improvements through automation
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or consumer packaged goods environments preferred
- Strong leadership and delivery mindset with experience managing teams and partners
- Experience with automation and development platforms such as UiPath, Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, or similar technologies preferred
- Demonstrated ability to shape, assemble, and execute new programs in a white-space environment
- Experience introducing standardization, reusable components, and engineering best practices across teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across function
Salary: $180,000 - $200,000 per year (based on experience) + 25% bonus + benefits.
