Role Overview

The Piping Engineer III develops piping system designs that meet code, contract, and schedule requirements for Mitsubishi Power gas turbine projects in the Americas, supporting large frame industrial gas turbine installations and associated plant systems. The position also leads efforts, collaborates with leadership, and provides strategic oversight to ensure efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Interpret and apply ASME piping codes and ensure compliance in design and vendor requirements.
  • Review project contracts, schedules, and requirements to define piping scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Prepare and evaluate technical specifications for piping systems, supports, and specialty components.
  • Review piping isometrics, P&IDs, equipment drawings, and 3D models to ensure design accuracy.
  • Support subcontractor coordination including engineering reviews, progress tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Perform piping calculations, component list development, and design support activities while driving quality improvements.

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineeringdiscipline college or university and 7 Years extensive direct experience piping systems, ASME codes, materials, and design practicesis required.
  • Experience reviewing technical drawings, P&IDs, and performing engineering calculations.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret technical data and requirements.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills across internal teams, contractors, and customers.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools including 3D modeling software and standard office applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, electronic mail required.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
