Location: San Diego, CA

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite (Remote candidates will not be considered)

Platform: ServiceNow Enterprise Platform / App Engine

Mission Area: Enterprise Workflow Modernization and Migration Services

Position Overview

Galaxy I Technologies Inc. is seeking two highly qualified ServiceNow Developers / Technical Architects to support the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) at Naval Base San Diego. In this role, you will lead and execute the modernization and expansion of SWRMC’s enterprise workflow environment.

A central priority for this effort is the mission-critical migration of an existing Oracle APEX legacy web portal to ServiceNow. Additionally, you will expand ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) workflows, build custom enterprise applications using ServiceNow App Engine, implement enterprise integrations, enforce robust security guardrails, and provide continuous hands-on training and knowledge transfer to U.S. Navy personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • ServiceNow Technical Architecture & Solutions: Serve as the technical lead translating functional and business requirements into scalable, upgradeable, and maintainable ServiceNow platform architectures. Perform gap analyses and evaluate out-of-the-box functionality versus custom solutions.
  • Hands-on Development: Configure, script, build, and maintain ServiceNow components using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, XML, Flow Designer, Business Rules, Client/Server-side scripts, and custom tables.
  • Oracle APEX Migration: Perform current-state assessment, data mapping, business logic/workflow translation, data transformation, validation, and cutover execution to seamlessly transition legacy Oracle APEX portal applications to ServiceNow without operational disruption.
  • ITSM Expansion: Configure and optimize core ITSM modules including Incident, Request Fulfillment, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, Problem, Change, and Service Level Management.
  • Custom Application Development (App Engine): Build custom end-to-end applications for SWRMC requirements such as Apprenticeship Program Tracking, Cell Phone Management, IT Check-In/Check-Out, Support & Logistics, Facilities/Security requests, and Command Correspondence.
  • Enterprise Integrations & Security: Implement REST/SOAP web services, Mid-Servers, LDAP, SSO, SAML, and CAC/MFA authentication. Build secure Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) and data protection models to safeguard PII and sensitive personnel records.
  • Agile/Scrum & Reporting: Lead and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-Ups, Demos, Retrospectives) and support government POAM (Plan of Action and Milestones) status and velocity reporting.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Author technical architecture designs, runbooks, operational procedures, and training materials. Conduct structured workshops and continuous hands-on knowledge transfer to prepare Navy personnel for long-term platform self-sufficiency.

Required Qualifications & Certifications

1. Professional Experience

  • Total IT Experience: Minimum 6+ years of progressive IT experience.
  • Enterprise Platform Experience: Minimum 3+ years configuring, developing, and implementing enterprise platform solutions (specifically ServiceNow).

3. Cybersecurity & Federal Compliance

  • IAT-II Baseline Certification: Active qualifying certification required at start (e.g., Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, or equivalent).
  • DON CSWF Compliance: Must satisfy Department of the Navy Cybersecurity Workforce requirements under SECNAV M-5239.2 / DoD 8570.01-M / DoDI 8140.01 (aligning with Specialty Areas 621 or 451).
