Job Description

The Acquisition Logistician will provide acquisition logistics support to the Uncrewed Launch and Control (ULC) Division Chief for Program Management Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (PM UAS) that spans the acquisition life-cycle framework. They will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing logistics support for Army systems and equipment throughout their lifecycle. This includes ensuring the integration of logistics considerations into the acquisition process, from concept development through disposal, in accordance with army regulations. The incumbent ensures that systems are designed, developed, and sustained to meet operational readiness requirements while minimizing lifecycle costs. Support will focus on the writing, management, and staffing of acquisition logistics documentation meeting milestone events. They will coordinate the UAS documentation Integrated Product Team (IPT), develop schedules, track progress, keep meeting minutes/notes, adjudicate comments between internal and external stakeholders. They will provide a timely review of new or updated acquisition documentation, including but not limited to Life Cycle Support Plans (LCSP) and associated annexes, Acquisition Strategy (AS), Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), to support alignment back to the LCSP for acquisition milestone reviews. They will be required to maintain cognizance of deadlines and take appropriate action to complete tasks in time to accommodate review schedules. Leverage technical and logistics experience in performing reviewing contractor proposals with a focus on identifying potential product support impacts. Recognize issues, propose or jointly develop corrective action, and keep the LOG Chief informed. Provide briefings, presentations, and written reports to leadership, management, and peers.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs such as, but not limited to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams etc.

Acquisition Logistician should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Write, manage, and staff acquisition logistics documentation
  • Develop and implement Integrated Product Support (IPS) plans to ensure effective and efficient supportability of Army systems.
  • Coordinate logistics requirements during all phases of the acquisition lifecycle, including concept development, design, testing, production, fielding, sustainment, and disposal.
  • Conduct lifecycle cost analysis to optimize system supportability and affordability.
  • Ensure logistics considerations are integrated into system design to enhance reliability, maintainability, and availability.
  • Collaborate with program managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure logistics requirements are addressed in system development and acquisition.
  • Ensure the availability of spare parts, tools, and support equipment to maintain operational readiness.
  • Identify and mitigate logistics risks that could impact system readiness or lifecycle costs. Develop contingency plans to address potential logistics challenges.
  • Coordinate the ULC documentation Integrated Product Team (IPT), develop schedules, track progress, keep meeting minutes/notes, and adjudicate comments between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiar with MIL-HDBK-502A Product Support Analysis, GEIA-HB-0007B Logistics Product Data Handbook, SAE-GEIA-STD-0007C Logistics Product Data, SAE-TA-HB-0007-1 Logistics Product Data Summaries Handbook, TSTD-017A Product Support Analysis.
  • Knowledge of, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Failure Modes and Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Basis of Issues Plan (BOIP), Type Classification, Materiel Release, Technical Publications, Statement of Work, Performance Work Statements, Statement of Objectives, provisioning, inventory management / distribution, and Contract Deliverable Line Item (CDRL).
  • Provide timely review of new or updated acquisition documentation, such as Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP) and associated annexes, Acquisition Strategies (AS), Simplified Acquisition Management Plans (SAMPS), and Systems Engineering Plans (SEP) to support alignment with the LCSP and acquisition milestone reviews.
  • Leverage technical and logistics experience in reviewing contractor proposals with a focus on identifying potential product support impacts. Recognize issues, propose or jointly develop corrective actions, and keep the PSM informed.
  • Provide briefings, presentations, and written reports to leadership, management and peers.


OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested
  • Work with members of the ULC Division Team, as required


Experience and Skills

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITLIES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 10 years of acquisition experience in a United States Army Project Offices or supporting LCMCs required.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, staffing, modifying and/or providing input into acquisition documentation, especially Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LSCP) and appendices for ACAT I or II programs required.
  • Participation in technical Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings or coordinating with engineers and technical staff.
  • Experience with tracing logistics documents requirements to the DoDI 5000.1 and DoDI 5000.2, DoDI 5000.2, DoDI 5000.85, DoDI 5000.91, AR 700-127, and DA PAM 700-127.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years of related acquisition logistics experience with a Master's Degree or 12 years of years acquisition logistics experience with a BA/BS Degree may be substituted for a Master's degree


REQUIRED TRAVEL:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. issued passport
  • Travel is expected up to 25%
