Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist to join our growing analytics team in Charlotte, NC. This role will focus on developing advanced forecasting models, demand planning solutions, and promotion effectiveness analytics to support strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate will leverage machine learning, statistical modeling, and data-driven insights to solve complex business challenges and optimize operational performance.

As a Data Scientist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, product managers, supply chain teams, and data engineers to build scalable predictive solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize forecasting models for demand planning and business operations.
  • Design and implement promotion modeling frameworks to measure promotional effectiveness and ROI.
  • Apply machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling techniques to solve business problems.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Build and deploy scalable forecasting and predictive analytics solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Perform feature engineering, model validation, and performance monitoring.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Partner with data engineering teams to ensure data quality and model deployment readiness.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies in data science and machine learning.
  • Present recommendations and insights to leadership teams to support strategic decision-making.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Predictive Analytics, or Machine Learning.
  • Strong experience with forecasting, demand planning, and predictive modeling.
  • Hands-on expertise in Python, R, or similar analytical programming languages.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, time-series forecasting, and regression analysis.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, consumer products, supply chain, merchandising, or demand planning environments.
  • Knowledge of promotion optimization and pricing analytics.
  • Familiarity with MLOps and model deployment best practices.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Understanding of causal inference and experimental design methodologies.
