Our client seeks a senior data product leader to partner with Google Cloud Platform teams and business stakeholders to shape solution approaches, delivery plans, and adoption strategies across commercial and operational domains. The role owns end-to-end data product lifecycle on Google Cloud Platform, including discovery, roadmap definition, Agile delivery, and measurable value realization for use cases such as pricing optimization, parts availability, lead scoring, external data enrichment, customer segmentation, and commercial performance analytics. The leader will guide data engineering and architecture practices including medallion architecture, open lakehouse design, data quality, lineage, and governance while partnering cross-functionally across commercial, operations, customer success, engineering, and analytics. Candidates should bring manufacturing domain experience and the ability to translate business needs into technical specifications and value-focused product backlogs.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:
  • Serve as primary delivery partner supporting Google Cloud Platform teams to shape solution approaches, delivery plans, and adoption strategies.
  • Lead discovery with stakeholders in parts, pricing, sales operations, marketing, service, and analytics to define requirements and outcomes.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications, delivery roadmaps, and value-focused product backlogs.
  • Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparency, and value realization.
  • Own end-to-end lifecycle of Google Cloud Platform-hosted data products for pricing optimization, parts insights, lead scoring, external enrichment, segmentation, and performance analytics.
  • Prioritize features based on business value, feasibility, and customer impact.
  • Lead cross-functional Agile delivery teams of data engineers, analysts, platform engineers, and SMEs.
  • Ensure medallion architecture principles for quality, scalability, and reuse.
  • Oversee design and development of pipelines, transformations, and models using SQL, Python, and modern ETL/ELT.
  • Lead implementation of open lakehouse architectures for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Establish data quality, lineage, metadata, and governance practices.
  • Support integration of CRM, ERP/SAP, pricing systems, parts catalogs, marketing platforms, and external providers.
  • Partner across commercial, operational, customer success, and engineering teams for alignment and adoption.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Support pre-sales and solution shaping to validate feasibility and architecture.

Experience Requirements:
  • 8-15 years of manufacturing industry experience with deep understanding of data flows in manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering and 12+ years leading end-to-end product management for data analytics and engineering, including roadmap execution and data model development, or
  • Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering and 10+ years leading end-to-end product management for data analytics and engineering, including roadmap execution and data model development.
  • 5+ years in Data Engineering on Google Cloud Platform, including open lakehouse architectures and medallion-based data products.
  • Experience with AWS and Snowflake. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform AI/ML capabilities.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern ETL/ELT frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, lineage, cataloging, metadata, and access controls.
  • Experience integrating and modeling data from enterprise systems including SAP.
  • Understanding of commercial and operational analytics, KPIs, funnel metrics, pricing structures, customer lifecycle analytics, and performance measurement.
  • Familiarity with ML workflows, AI-enabled data solutions, and MLOps.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into data product requirements across multiple functional areas.
  • Proven leadership of cross-functional initiatives with effective communication to business and technical audiences.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering, or Master's degree in these disciplines.
