Overview
Qualified healthcare IT Project Managers require experience with Epic Systems supporting Cardiology, Radiology, or broader imaging systems integrated with Epic Systems and third-party applications. Candidates with strong experience managing Epic Community Connect initiatives or multi-entity Epic implementations will also be considered, particularly those supporting onboarding, integration, and expansion of Epic across affiliated or partner organizations.
What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Healthcare, or a related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on IT project management experience.
- Experience supporting projects involving healthcare IT and Epic Systems.
- Strong working knowledge of formal project management methodologies.
- PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma certification (required within one year of hire, if not already obtained).
- Demonstrated experience leveraging Lean process improvement methodologies.
- Advanced organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Outlook) and project management software.
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or guiding junior project managers in driving strategic enterprise initiatives.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal business hours to meet project deadlines.
Preferred Domain Experience (One or More):
- Experience managing Epic projects within Cardiology, Radiology, or Imaging platforms integrated with Epic (e.g., Cupid, Radiant, PACS, modality integrations) – OR – experience leading or supporting Epic Community Connect initiatives, including onboarding affiliated hospitals, multi-entity integrations, or shared Epic environments.
- Experience working with third-party imaging systems, PACS, or modality integrations within Epic ecosystems.
- Familiarity with clinical workflows, imaging data flows, and system interoperability in healthcare environments.
What You'll Do (Skills Used in this Position)
- Manage multiple concurrent projects from initiation through closure.
- Lead and manage projects supporting Epic Cardiology, Radiology, or Imaging systems, including integrations with third-party platforms – OR – manage and support Epic Community Connect initiatives, including onboarding partner hospitals, coordinating multi-organization implementations, and aligning shared Epic environments
- Define project scope, objectives, milestones, budgets, and success metrics with sponsors and stakeholders.
- Establish and facilitate project governance to ensure leadership alignment and issue resolution.
- Drive project execution across clinical imaging workflows, system integrations, and enterprise Epic initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partner organizations to ensure successful Epic expansion, integration, and adoption.
- Develop project plans, communication plans, schedules, and budgets using PM tools.
- Estimate, plan, and manage project costs and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Identify project dependencies, critical paths, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Proactively manage scope, schedule, and resource changes, escalating when necessary.
- Facilitate regular project meetings and provide clear, actionable status reporting.
- Track and report project progress, risks, and next steps to senior leadership.
- Resolve issues and conflicts or escalate appropriately.
- Collaborate with organizational performance improvement teams.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and contractors.
- Conduct lessons learned sessions and contribute to continuous improvement and PM best practices.
- Support the development and maintenance of project management standards, tools, and processes.
Compensation and Employment
This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 – $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
