- Lead transportation design and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to design roadway transportation projects.
- Coordinate with project managers and discipline leads to establish priorities, delegate work, and manage design schedules and deliverables.
- Bring outstanding creative, technical and interpersonal skills to lead teams through challenging designs and schedules, taking pride in a job well done and the people you mentor along the way.
- Communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders, translating complex concepts and inspiring enthusiasm for the important work we deliver to our communities.
- Assist team leaders and PM's with various project duties when support is needed.
- Participate in the development of project fees, schedules, scopes, budgets, staff planning and construction planning. Responsible for the effective management of change orders.
- Mentor engineers and designers through technical guidance, constructive feedback, and opportunities to take on greater responsibility.
- Perform quality reviews for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in civil or related engineering technology from an ABET-accredited program.
- Minimum 10 years of experience; experience working in the related civil roadway transportation industry preferred.
- Candidate must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Experience in the development of contract documents related to drawings and specifications.
- Experience with leading the design discipline for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead the execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines while working on multiple projects concurrently.
- Knowledge of transportation engineering methodologies and standards including but not limited to the TxDOT Roadway Design Manual and the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, etc.
- Proficient in OpenRoads Designer and/or Autocad Civil 3D design software, Excel, and Word.
- Experience working with local governments, agencies, DOTs, and private-sector clients.
- Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Ability to travel.
