Job Title: AWS Cloud Architect
Location: Walnut Creek, CA (On-site / In-person Client Interview Required)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect (15+ years overall IT / Senior Cloud experience) to design, build, and optimize scalable, highly secure cloud-native architectures on AWS. This role combines high-level architectural strategy, enterprise cloud migrations, and hands-on infrastructure-as-code automation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise AWS solutions.
• Lead cloud migration and legacy modernization initiatives.
• Develop cloud adoption roadmaps, governance frameworks, and architecture blueprints.
• Provision and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform / CloudFormation).
• Collaborate with cross-functional development, security, and SRE teams to build cloud-native applications.
• Drive cost optimization (FinOps), performance tuning, and automated disaster recovery solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, architectural reviews, and mentorship to engineering teams.
Technical Core Competencies:
• AWS Core: EC2, S3, VPC, Route 53, RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, Lambda, ECS, EKS, API Gateway, CloudFront
• Infrastructure & Automation: Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
• Security & Governance: IAM Policies & Roles, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Security Groups, NACLs, Direct Connect/VPN
• Systems: Linux Administration (Windows Server administration is a plus)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience with Microservices, SRE practices, and large-scale containerization.
• Knowledge of Data/Analytics pipelines, Serverless paradigms, or AWS AI/ML services.
• AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional).
• Domain experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Retail, or Manufacturing.
