Job Title: Sr. DevOps Engineer

Purpose and Objective:

SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Sr. DevOps Engineer at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of customer environments in Cloud of respective product lines and to ensure the delivery according to defined Service Level Agreements.

Expectations and Tasks:

Utilize the knowledge in various technologies including database and platform, used by development and operations. Define automation framework and drive automation and standardization. Ensure smooth operations and maximize uptime. Define the product delivery roadmap to bring it into production. Execute technical tasks to ensure efficient delivery of system landscape support core tasks in the assigned functional areas of responsibility. Independent assurance of effective system operations along the software lifecycle. Support knowledge management in the team and between operations and development. Ensure excellent quality and maintain high standards in all processes listed in the relevant process map. Understand and improve current effort and cost structure of system/tenant operations (TCO). Contribute to operations model/operational processes and procedures. Partner support and cooperation. Support field, account executives, consultants on stakeholder management and delivery. Project / Program management.

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Information Systems, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Information Systems, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must include three (3) years involving each of the following:
  • Public cloud operations support using AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure including Entra ID;
  • DevOps project management tools - JIRA;
  • Designing and build advanced automations with a focus on more efficient operations and governance at enterprise scale;
  • Designing and deploying Identity and Access management on cloud;
  • Roles based access control and Encryption using Certificate based authentication (PKI);
  • Implementing, analyzing, and observing the message logging for connectivity troubleshooting and audit purposes;
  • SAP Business technology platform (BTP) and its extension to business applications; and
  • Cloud integration connecting SAP and non-SAP applications including B2B and A2A.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $147,002 - $222,288. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $148,600 - $252,600. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
