Description We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support and optimize a complex enterprise network environment in Jacksonville, FL. This long-term contract role will focus on network performance, security, reliability, and infrastructure improvements across a large-scale environment.
Responsibilities:- Design, implement, and enhance network infrastructure to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network technologies.
- Troubleshoot routing, connectivity, and internet-related issues, including BGP and static routing.
- Partner with infrastructure and security teams to strengthen network security and system availability.
- Monitor network performance, analyze bandwidth utilization, and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Perform root cause analysis on outages and implement corrective actions to minimize recurring issues.
- Support connectivity for remote locations, IoT devices, and field-based communication systems.
- Execute network upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting while ensuring minimal downtime.
- Provide technical support, training, and guidance to internal users and team members.
- Evaluate and improve redundancy, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities.
Requirements Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, Network Administrator, or similar role.
3+ years of IT support experience in an enterprise environment.
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and enterprise networking.
Experience with routing protocols, network design, and infrastructure support.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve network performance, connectivity, and security issues.
Experience using network monitoring and performance analysis tools.
Relevant networking, security, or cloud certifications are a plus.
