What You'll Do
As the Process Engineer you will determine processes for all products manufactured at the facility, plan and implement engineering projects related to design and implementation of production equipment, determine practices for maintaining product quality, determine practices for reducing environmental impact, and assist with the development and implementation of safety initiatives. As the Process Engineer you will also troubleshoot processes, strive for continuous improvement, establish lean manufacturing processes and provide engineering service to the production floor.
Your day-to-day impact will include:
Product Development and Management
- Functionally supervise assigned Engineering Technicians and the development of Manufacturing Samples.
- Solicit and review vendor input and choose or recommend more efficient operating equipment and material.
- Interpret Product and Tool Drawings and Specifications. Work with precision measuring instruments.
- Determine in-process inspection requirements. Recommend the inspection techniques and equipment required to meet product quality specifications.
- Provide cost analysis or suggestion feasibility studies as requested.
- Provide Engineering assistance in the introduction of new product including: specification development, product structure development, and product deployment.
Process Development and Management -
- Specify the manufacturing processes required for product production. Determine the equipment, fixtures and tooling required to perform each operation.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and implement corrective action as problems occur.
- Analyze nonstandard conditions and make recommendations for corrections/improvements.
- Assist in development of accurate and timely manufacturing quotations for original equipment and products.
- Oversee the implementation of new processes and equipment. Provide instruction to manufacturing regarding new processes.
- Troubleshoot processes which require engineering intervention.
- Determine Manufacturing Production Capacity for finished products.
- Recommend and implement new and more cost-efficient manufacturing processes. Maintain knowledge of the State-Of-The-Art technology in the industry.
- Maintain open communications with other Divisions. Exchange technical information associated with improved product procedures, tooling, equipment, product design and quality.
- Provide Engineering service to the shop floor and other departments.
- Work with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Production Control and Maintenance personnel in resolving production problems. This includes manufacturing approvals for engineered products.
- Plan and implement engineering projects associated with manufacturing processes.
- Assist in training the Manufacturing departments set-up and operational personnel as it relates to the proper set-up and use of tooling and equipment.
- Recommend methods for the disposition of nonconforming product.
- Issue and approve Manufacturing deviations.
- Coordinate the work of vendors with the needs of the Division. Work with vendors to rectify processing problems.
- Troubleshoot using statistical analysis and design of experimental techniques on manufacturing process problems.
- Obtain quotes for new products and equipment.
- Work through the Asset Team as a member to increase World Class manufacturing techniques.
- Explore, justify and procure new equipment for Manufacturing.
- Improve plant layout and increase manufacturing flexibility.
Lean Manufacturing -
- Utilize 5S methodology to improve processes.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Establish and track process of continuous improvement projects.
- Establish/Maintain culture of incremental improvements.

What You'll Need
- Four (4) year degree in Engineering or related field.
- Five (5) years Process/Manufacturing experience.
- Experience in related industry.
- Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement Experience
- Experience with ISO 9001/ISO 14001 Quality and Environmental Standards
- Knowledge of machines and principles including
- Experience with FANUC or similar robotics.
- Experience with Factory Automation.
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles including:
- Continuous and Incremental Improvement
- Written Communication Skills

- Microsoft Office Application
