Our client is seeking a Senior Database Engineer in Atlanta, GA/Hybrid

Role Description

The Senior Database Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and evolution of enterprise database solutions across Oracle, AWS, and Google Cloud platforms. This individual will partner closely with application teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available database services that support strategic business objectives.
The role requires deep expertise in enterprise database architecture, cloud database technologies, automation, performance optimization, disaster recovery, and operational excellence. This engineer will also serve as a technical advisor and mentor while helping establish database standards and best practices across the organization.
Database Architecture & Engineering
Architect, design, implement, and optimize highly available enterprise database platforms.
Develop database standards and best practices across hybrid cloud environments.
Ensure database performance, scalability, reliability, recoverability, and operational efficiency.
Database Operations & Support
Administer and support enterprise database services.
Perform troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis (RCA).
Participate in on-call support and escalation processes.
Drive service stability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Performance Optimization
Perform advanced database engineering and analysis.
Optimize SQL queries and database design.
Support database code deployments and application performance initiatives.
Disaster Recovery & Replication
Design and support backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
Utilize Oracle GoldenGate and Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA).
Automation & Infrastructure as Code
Develop and maintain automation solutions.
Utilize Terraform and IaC methodologies.
Automate provisioning, deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management activities.
Innovation & Technology Evaluation
Lead Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives.
Evaluate emerging database technologies.
Recommend and drive adoption of modern database capabilities.

Skills & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
7+ years of progressive database engineering experience.
