Security Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a Network Security Analyst to support daily cybersecurity and network security operations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with network security, routing and switching, firewalls, security monitoring, and on-premise/cloud environments.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and collaborate with cybersecurity and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate network security alerts and potential threats.
• Support network security assessments and firewall changes.
• Review firewall rules, connectivity requests, and website access requests.
• Analyze network traffic, logs, and security telemetry.
• Support security monitoring using SIEM tools such as Splunk or QRadar.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and network security assessments.
• Analyze on-premise and cloud networks for security risks.
• Support firewall configuration reviews and rule recertification.
• Help implement network security controls and improvements.
• Monitor emerging security threats and recommend appropriate controls.
• Support cloud and on-premise network projects.
• Maintain compliance with security standards and regulations.
• Work with technical teams, vendors, and business units on cybersecurity initiatives.
• Prepare security reports, KPIs, and trend analysis.
• Provide guidance on network security best practices.

Required Skills

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network design, implementation, or support.
• Experience with IT security or system administration.
• Knowledge of secure network design and security architecture.
• Strong understanding of routing and switching.
• Experience with enterprise firewalls.
• Experience with network security monitoring and auditing.
• Knowledge of IDS/IPS technologies.
• Experience analyzing logs, alerts, and network traffic.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, and/or macOS.
• Working knowledge of data protection, access controls, and security compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Splunk or QRadar.
• Experience with Nessus, Qualys, or similar vulnerability scanning tools.
• Cloud network security experience with AWS or Azure.
• Experience working in healthcare or state government environments.
• Knowledge of NIST, FISMA, HIPAA, and CMS ARC-AMPE security standards.
• Experience working in regulatory/compliance environments.

Education & Certifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Network/security certification such as CCNA or PCNSE.

Preferred:

• CISSP
• CompTIA Security+
