Interview Process: 1st round virtual, 2nd round in-person. Candidates MUST be available for an in-person interview.

Duration: 6 months, with the intent to potentially hire the contractor into a full-time position within 6 months.

Work Schedule: Hybrid. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION.

Location Requirement: Local candidates (strongly preferred) or non-local candidates who must be willing to relocate at their own expense from acceptance with no delays and follow the hybrid schedule.

The Business Analyst 5 will provide excellent customer service, supporting primarily project needs for the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

Key responsibilities include being the liaison between the technology management team and project stakeholders, as well as providing expert facilitation, elicitation, and process modeling to help develop strategy and requirements for planned enhancements and technology updates on a public-facing application used to communicate current availability of burn permits in Michigan counties.

In addition, as part of the overall support for DNR, this person will be a critical member of the Business Analyst team, participating in various related work requests for DNR and contributing to the operational activities of the BA team.

Customer service and being a champion to ease agency compliance with policies and practices are key performance expectations for this person. They must be able to quickly gain a working understanding of applicable constraints and enablers and help the agency navigate those for the success of their projects and work requests.

The team welcomes candidates who are self-directed, well organized, confident in their ability to build relationships, quick to come up to speed on new assignments, and able to be flexible and adaptable to changing needs and/or direction.

• Minimum of 7 years conducting business process review and requirements elicitation and documentation, including process modeling.
• Minimum of 5 years developing and/or managing user stories on Agile development projects.
• Minimum of 2 years working directly with senior management in facilitating discussions to determine strategy, develop road maps, and/or gain consensus to resolve opposing positions.
• Minimum of 2 years working on projects developing/implementing IT solutions for public use.

• Minimum of 2 years supporting the development of or compliance with statements of work and/or other work agreements/contracts.
• Minimum of 1 year working with programs governed by state and/or federal regulations.
• Bachelor's degree.
