South Texas Regional Fixed Plant Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a Fixed Maintenance Manager to support our South Texas Aggregates operations, including quarries and sand and gravel plants in Garden Ridge, Texas. This role provides leadership, direction, and technical expertise to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of fixed plant equipment across multiple locations while driving operational excellence, asset reliability, maintenance performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You\'ll Be Doing

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with company policies, MSHA regulations, and environmental requirements.

  • Plan, prioritize, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for fixed plant equipment across multiple aggregate operations.

  • Drive equipment reliability and plant performance by analyzing maintenance data, identifying root causes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manage maintenance operating budgets, critical spare parts inventories, contractors, and capital projects to optimize costs, improve equipment availability, and maximize operational efficiency.

  • Establish and monitor maintenance KPIs including equipment availability, PM compliance, schedule compliance, maintenance cost per ton, and downtime reduction across South Texas operations.

What Are We Looking For

  • Demonstrated capability to lead maintenance operations in aggregates, mining, heavy industrial manufacturing, construction materials, or similar environments.

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, motor controls, MCCs, VFDs, and industrial process equipment utilized in aggregate and sand and gravel operations.

  • Proven ability to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.

  • Effective leadership, communication, and employee development skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple operations.

  • Commitment to safety, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering business results in a fast-paced environment.

Critical Experiences and Skills

  • Demonstrated success leading fixed plant maintenance operations in aggregates, mining, heavy manufacturing, or similar industrial environments.

  • Strong knowledge of crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, electrical systems, and other fixed processing equipment, including preventive and predictive maintenance practices.

  • Proven ability to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement through data analysis and root cause problem-solving.

  • Experience leading, developing, and coaching maintenance teams while effectively managing contractors, budgets, and maintenance resources.

  • Proficiency with maintenance planning and scheduling, CMMS systems, inventory control, and cross-functional collaboration to support safe and efficient operations.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent technical training and experience will be considered.

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive maintenance experience in aggregates, mining, heavy industrial manufacturing, construction materials, or a related industry, with demonstrated success leading maintenance teams and operational improvement initiatives.

  • Proven ability to manage maintenance planning, capital projects, and resources across multiple sites while delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective business results.

Physical Demands of the Job

  • Regularly walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs, ladders, and elevated work platforms while conducting inspections and site visits.

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and occasionally lift or carry materials and equipment in support of maintenance activities.

  • Work safely in outdoor and industrial environments with exposure to dust, noise, vibration, weather conditions, and moving mechanical equipment while wearing required personal protective equipment.

Work Environment

  • Frequent travel between quarries, sand and gravel plants, and other operational sites throughout South Texas.

  • Works in a combination of office, plant, and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment.

  • Must be able to navigate uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders, conduct equipment inspections, and wear required personal protective equipment.

  • $130,000-$135,000 base salary and participation in our annual incentive plan.
