Job DetailsResponsibilities:
The full finance leadership stack: month/quarter/year close, financial statements (internal and external), regulatory reporting, and accounting policy
Budgeting, forecasting, and the ad-hoc analysis leadership needs to make calls - and serving as a financial thought partner to ownership and functional heads
Day-to-day accounting oversight across AR, AP, payroll, job costing, and credit/collections
Project finance in lockstep with Operations and Project Management: setup, WIP, cost reports, and ongoing projections
The full audit slate - financial, corporate, insurance, CCIP, 401(k), sales tax - plus tax filings and regulatory work
CCIP reporting and audit cycle in partnership with the Risk Director
The outside accounting bench: audit firm, tax advisors, and the advisors handling ownership's personal and estate matters
Continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and processes alongside the CEO and executive team
Hiring, developing, and managing the accounting team
What we're looking for:
15+ years in construction accounting, including time in a Controller seat
Deep fluency in finance mechanics - job costing, WIP, percentage-of-completion, and CCIP/OCIP environments
Comfort building and tightening controls, policies, and close processes inside a growing business
Strong systems orientation; Sage 300 a plus, advanced Excel expected
Proven leader of an accounting team - hires well, develops people, runs the function with rigor
Clear communicator and natural business partner across operations, project management, and ownership
Sharp analytical instincts paired with sound judgment and an operational bent
