Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated
Automation Engineering Technician to work
on-site with our client, a top-tier electronics company. As a W2 employee you will have access to health benefits.
Responsibilities: This person will maintain and support updates to our existing automated mechatronics test lines and provide feedback to improve system performance.
This role includes a mix of routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, with many tasks following established procedures. There will also be opportunities to support system improvements and new installations.
While this role is based in Santa Rosa, CA, there may be occasional travel (typically one 2-3 week trip every ~2 years) to Penang, Malaysia for system installs as well as other opportunities to travel domestically. This role requires the ability to work independently on assigned tasks, maintenance schedules and collaborate with multiple teams to support automation systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities on the robotic automated test systems.
- Maintain preventative maintenance documentation and make improvement recommendations where appropriate.
- Address a range of recurring issues and occasional new technical problems.
- Create preventative maintenance documentation as required.
- Troubleshoot common mechanical, electrical, and software issues in the automation.
- Provide feedback to engineering team based on system performance and observed issues.
- Support engineering-led system improvements.
- Support production teams with integrating new products into existing automation systems.
- Assist with assembly and test of automated systems when directed.
Qualifications: - 5 Years of hands-on technical experience in electronics or mechanical environment or 3 Years with an associate's degree in engineering or related field.
- Great root cause analysis and trouble shooting skills.
- Familiarity with basic electrical troubleshooting (Digital Multimeter and Power Supplies)
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
- Strong computer skills for documentation and data tracking (MS Office or similar)
Bonus Qualifications: - Familiarity with CAD
- Experience with PLC's or Robots is a strong plus.
- Machine shop and electrical prototyping skills.
- Experience with pneumatics, electronic controls, and 3 phase power.
- Familiarity with LAN/RS232/Modbus control
