JOB DESCRIPTION:
As an ADMS & Grid Modernization Senior Consultant, you will serve as a primary technical advisor and delivery lead for large-scale electric utility modernizations. Your initial focus will be supporting our primary delivery account in building, deploying, and maintaining automated control room software systems.
You will manage the end-to-end deployment lifecycle of Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Operational Technology (OT) applications, ensuring a continuous bridge between real-time distribution operations, geographic networks, and cloud integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Workstream Delivery: Lead the deployment, analysis, and deep configuration of advanced applications within the AspenTech Monarch Platform / Digital Grid Management landscape, focusing on Distribution Power Flow, State Estimation, FLISR (Fault Location, Isolation, and Service Restoration), and VVO (Volt-Var Optimization).
- Network & GIS Data Alignment: Collaborate with engineering teams to map geographic connectivity and GIS models directly into active ADMS database environments, troubleshooting data discrepancies, network fatals, and connectivity gaps.
- Systems Integration: Partner with enterprise architecture groups to integrate real-time OT data streams (SCADA, OMS, AMI) with corporate enterprise asset management (EAM/Maximo) and IT analytics layers.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Drive critical software delivery milestones, including defining criteria for, planning, and executing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between distribution control center rooms, field delivery operations, software vendors, and executive project management teams.
Required Technical & Professional Expertise
- Industry Tenure: Minimum 5 8 years of direct engineering or consulting experience inside the North American electric utility sector.
- ADMS Subject Matter Expertise: Proven execution history working inside real-time OT applications, with strong preference for hands-on experience in AspenTech Digital Grid Management solutions (Monarch), General Electric (GE Habitat), Schneider Electric (OASyS/EcoStruxure), or Siemens Spectrum.
- Systems Architecture: Foundational understanding of relational database modeling, network infrastructure, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vCenter) commonly utilized in utility control rooms.
- Education: Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
