Electrical Engineer

Minimum 3 years of Electrical Experience

Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to fill an opening with a Construction Company located in Metro Detroit. Must have experience with power and lighting distribution.

Requirements of the Electrical Engineer

Degree in Electrical Engineering required
2-5 years minimum experience with an electrical contracting company (preferred) and/or Architectural/Engineering firm required
Strong skills and proficiency in Revit software required
Proven experience with reviewing, editing, and writing project specifications required
Experience with generating and/or reviewing production submittals against project specifications required
Experience with walk throughs, defining scope and generating bill of materials required
Must be self-directed
Must also be able to manage others and possess strong communication skills
Ability to work cohesively with other departments within the company
Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and follow projects to completion
Strong problem-solving skills required
Ability to travel 10-20% of the time to jobsites in multiple states

Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer

Design and coordinate all power and lighting distribution systems meeting project specifications under the guidance of a Professional Engineer (PE) on staff
Manage and schedule 3D modelers/2D Drafters (VDC/BIM modelers)
Review, edit and write project specifications under the guidance of PE on staff
Generate and/or review production submittals against project specifications under the guidance of PE on staff
Assist in the estimating process for Electrical contractors by attending jobsite walk throughs, defining scope, and generating bill of materials
Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by management
