The
Data Center Circular Center Technician plays a critical part in the
secure decommissioning, recovery, and reuse of data center equipment. Rather than simply disposing of hardware, this team ensures valuable components are harvested, sensitive data is permanently destroyed, and assets are fully tracked through their end-of-life lifecycle. The work directly supports sustainability goals, security compliance, and operational excellence in large-scale data center environments.

Role OverviewThis position supports high-volume data center operations focused on
equipment decommissioning, asset recovery, inventory management, and secure data destruction. You will work independently within defined runbooks and processes, escalating issues as needed while maintaining accuracy, safety, and compliance.
The environment is fast-paced and detail-driven, ideal for technicians who thrive on precision, accountability, and physical hardware interaction.
Shift Structure (A Side / B Side)This role follows a
rotating A-side / B-side schedule, providing built-in consistency and predictable time off.
- A Side:
- Sunday - Tuesday
- Every other Wednesday
- B Side:
- Thursday - Saturday
- Every other Wednesday
This alternating structure supports continuous operations while offering regular extended breaks and a consistent rhythm week over week.
What You'll Do- Execute data center decommissioning activities, including receiving, staging, dismantling, and preparing hardware for reuse or disposal
- Harvest critical server components (NICs, motherboards, DIMMs, CPUs) and ensure accurate documentation and tray placement
- Perform secure destruction of data-bearing devices (DBDs) in accordance with established security and compliance standards
- Support Asset Receiving Area (ARA) operations by scanning, tracking, and preparing racks and hardware for downstream processing
- Prepare and pre-pack assets for IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), ensuring full traceability at the component and rack level
- Document outbound shipments, validating racks, pallets, carriers, and seals while following strict safety protocols
- Maintain accurate physical and system inventory records, including cycle counts and audit corrections
- Manage consumable inventory and ensure materials are available to support daily operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support logistics, distribution, and rack-level activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized data center environment at all times
What We're Looking ForRequired Experience- 1-3+ years of experience in a data center, circular center, warehouse, supply chain, or IT logistics environment
- 1+ year of hands-on server or hardware experience, including component harvesting
- 1+ year of break/fix or hardware troubleshooting experience
- Experience with shipping/receiving, inventory management, and ticketing systems

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.
