Scala Developer with Kafka

In Person Interview
Scala Developer who has Kafka background as well as the knowledge of containerizing code and perform end point deployments. They should have developed or refactored Scala applications.
Scala Developer specs:
· Build REST/gRPC APIs, microservices, and distributed systems using Scala’s functional and object‑oriented features, with Akka, Play, or ZIO for concurrency and async processing
· Type‑safe, immutable data structures: Use Scala’s strong static typing to design robust, maintainable codebases, reducing runtime errors and improving testability
· Optimizing JVM/Scala performance: Tune memory usage, concurrency, and multi‑threading for high‑load systems; integrate with databases (SQL/NoSQL), message brokers, and cloud platforms
· CI/CD and DevOps integration: Implement automated builds, containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring pipelines
· Legacy system refactoring: Modernize Java‑based systems by integrating Scala modules without full rewrites, leveraging JVM interoperability.
Skills Required
· Technical skills:
o Solid RDBMS and SQL knowledge
o Strong database related hands-on development experience especially in DB2
o Experience with Java EE (Spring, Gradle)
o Exposure to Scala
o Familiarity with ETL
o Familiarity with Linux and Windows development environments
· Willing to upskill and contribute in software modernization journey to latest tech stacks
· Working familiarity with BDD and TDD approaches in software lifecycles
· Working familiarity using GenAI-powered IDEs, such as VS Code and Co-Pilot
· A generalist with demonstrated abilities in specific areas and a strong ability to deliver reliably
· Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership of tasks and projects, able to work with the global team, and manage time and tasks effectively and independently.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Experience with object-oriented software development
· Experience with modern SDLC methodologies, including Agile processes
