Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

The PKI Manager will provide complete oversight to the PKI team and daily operations while maintaining superior customer service to the Government Customer. PKI support is direct support of customer certificate issues and PKI system-related issues.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and maintain Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) daily operations, including the request, issuance, distribution, installation, renewal, revocation, and destruction of all digital certificates (SSL/TLS, code signing, user/device authentication)
  • Lead, mentor, and technically direct the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) team, ensuring operational excellence, strict standards compliance, and continuous professional development
  • Author, update, and enforce the Certificate Policy (CP) and Certification Practice Statement (CPS). Ensure the PKI environment adheres to formal legal, operational, and compliance frameworks
  • Lead the preparation for internal and external PKI compliance audits, serving as the primary point of contact for auditors
  • Manage relationships with external Public Certificate Authorities (CAs), registration authorities, and hardware security vendors (such as HSM providers)
  • Actively monitor, evaluate, and maintain expert-level competency in emerging cryptographic protocols, industry standards, and technical specifications
  • Execute other mission-essential duties and specialized technical projects as assigned
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the PKI Team to ensure effective performance, professional growth, and alignment with organizational requirements and goals.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and address performance concerns in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Develop and implement employee development plans, identify training opportunities, and support career advancement initiatives.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment that promotes employee engagement, accountability, and retention.
  • Review, verify, and approve employee timesheets, attendance records, leave requests, and related workforce management documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor staffing levels, workload distribution, and resource allocation to ensure operational efficiency and service excellence.
  • Interview, hire, onboard, and train new employees, ensuring successful integration into the team and organization.
  • Set team priorities, establish and uphold performance metrics, and monitor progress towards mission requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions that enhance productivity, quality, and customer service.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and requested documents that provide leadership with updates that align with stakeholder requests and mission requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years relevant experience OR
  • Associate degree and 10+ years relevant experience OR
  • HS diploma and 12+ years relevant experience
  • DoD 8140 (formerly 8570.01-M), IAT Level II certification
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to obtain CI Poly Clearance
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
