Job#: 3041696 Job Description: Apex Systems is currently hiring for a Senior SQL Developer with a leading automotive financial services organization supporting large-scale enterprise applications and critical customer-facing systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-volume transactional platforms while driving database performance, system reliability, and production support initiatives in a highly regulated environment.
This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting SQL Server database solutions across multiple enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in T-SQL development, database performance tuning, production support, and data modeling, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and collaborate across technical and business teams.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in SQL Server development within enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in T-SQL programming, including stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and complex query development
- Experience with SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, execution plan analysis, and indexing strategies
- Experience supporting production systems in SLA-driven environments, including root cause analysis and incident resolution
- Experience designing and implementing scalable database solutions and data models for high-volume transactional systems
- Experience with SSIS, batch processing systems, and large-volume data processing optimization
- Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the automotive finance industry or related financial services environments
- Knowledge of loan origination, servicing, collections, accounting, and regulatory processes
- Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS and Power BI
- Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably AWS
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes
- Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud and/or Marketing Cloud
- Experience mentoring developers and conducting code reviews
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SQL Server application development and production support efforts across multiple enterprise systems
- Design, develop, test, and implement scalable, high-performance database solutions
- Perform advanced SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and database troubleshooting
- Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and implement permanent resolutions
- Support and optimize batch processing workloads to improve system performance and reliability
- Develop and maintain database objects, including stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers
- Perform impact analysis across systems and applications to identify downstream dependencies
- Ensure data integrity, reconciliation, and control mechanisms are maintained across critical data processes
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and business teams to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements
- Create and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and testing deliverables
- Participate in on-call production support activities and resolve incidents within defined SLAs
- Enforce development standards, change management processes, and audit compliance requirements
