Summary
Business Analyst / QA Analyst
Licensing Systems
Austin, TX
Onsite
3+ month contract
iSphere is looking for a Business Analyst / QA Analyst who can work directly with users, break down business processes, and help improve licensing systems through strong analysis, testing, and communication.
This role sits in the middle of business operations, QA, and Agile delivery. You’ll be gathering requirements, writing user stories, validating functionality, troubleshooting issues, and helping ensure systems actually work the way users need them to.
Must haves
• Strong experience performing senior-level business analysis and quality assurance work
• Experience gathering and documenting requirements, business processes, and user needs
• Experience translating requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
• Experience working in Agile environments and participating in Agile ceremonies
• Experience leading refinement and sprint planning sessions
• Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools
• Experience creating and reviewing test cases and supporting QA efforts
• Experience troubleshooting application or system issues and recommending solutions
• Experience reviewing project deliverables such as test plans, charters, and risk documentation
• Experience coordinating with vendors and external partners
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with end users
Nice to have
• Experience working with licensing systems
• Experience supporting Texas state agencies or regulatory environments
• Previous experience working with TDA systems
• Experience developing and delivering training materials and user training sessions
What the work looks like
You’ll work with users and stakeholders to understand current business processes, identify pain points, and document requirements for system improvements and automation opportunities.
You’ll create user stories, define acceptance criteria, and validate that functionality meets both business and technical expectations. That includes hands-on QA work, reviewing test coverage, supporting testing efforts, and ensuring non-functional requirements are addressed.
You’ll also support project coordination activities, including reviewing project documentation, helping manage scope and change requests, and supporting risk management efforts.
There’s a strong user interaction component in this role. You’ll work directly with internal and external users to gather feedback, validate solutions, and help ensure a smooth user experience.
Training and communication are also part of the role. You’ll help create training materials and assist with training sessions tied to assigned systems and processes.
This role is ideal for someone who can move comfortably between business analysis, QA, Agile coordination, and user support without losing attention to detail.
At iSphere, we look for people who can help bridge the gap between users and technology while keeping projects moving forward. If you’ve worked in licensing systems or regulated environments and enjoy both analysis and QA work, this one will fit.
