Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network Automation Engineer for a hybrid position (3 days onsite required) with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX or Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role supports the development and maintenance of network automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, visibility, and incident response. The ideal candidate will apply skills in Python-based automation, network fundamentals, and operational support automation within a structured engineering environment under the guidance of senior automation engineers.
Responsibilities: - Support the development and maintenance of network automation solutions
- Deliver well-defined automation tasks and enhancements to improve operational efficiency, visibility, and incident response
- Apply skills in Python-based automation and network fundamentals
- Work under the guidance of senior automation engineers within a structured environment
Requirements: - Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- 4-6 years of experience in network operations, automation, scripting, or infrastructure support roles
- Working knowledge of Python, including writing and maintaining scripts
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and JSON-based data exchange
- Fundamental understanding of enterprise networking concepts: Routing, switching, wireless, and basic SD-WAN concepts
- Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, or telemetry tools
- Basic understanding of Linux environments and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Ansible and DevOps principles
- Ability to follow established designs and operational processes
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team
Desired skills: - Exposure to backend frameworks (such as Django or Flask)
- Exposure to automation or scripting used in operational environments
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Basic understanding of incident and problem management processes
- Awareness of observability concepts such as metrics, logs, and events
- Interest in Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices
Pay range: $60.24 - $68.24 per hour
