Job Summary / Description:

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to define, maintain, and evolve enterprise architecture standards and technology roadmaps in support of large-scale modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in application modernization, cloud architecture, and enterprise integrations, with the ability to align technology solutions to business, regulatory, and citizen service objectives.

This role will serve as a trusted advisor to IT leadership and business stakeholders, providing architectural guidance, governance, and oversight across business, application, data, and technical domains. The Enterprise Architect will play a key role in transitioning legacy systems to modern cloud-native and hybrid architectures while ensuring security, compliance, and interoperability.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Develop, publish, and maintain enterprise reference architectures, standards, and architectural patterns.

·         Lead modernization initiatives to transition legacy applications to cloud-native or hybrid solutions.

·         Design and oversee secure integrations with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Appian, Azure, and other core systems.

·         Architect scalable and secure cloud solutions aligned with Commonwealth security frameworks, federal regulations, and industry best practices.

·         Collaborate with agency and business stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment with strategic goals and citizen engagement needs.

·         Provide technical leadership, architectural oversight, and solution guidance to development teams and project managers.

·         Define and promote enterprise data interoperability strategies while ensuring compliance with data protection, retention, and regulatory policies.

·         Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies to improve service delivery, reporting, and operational efficiency.

·         Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, standards, roadmaps, and future-state diagrams.

·         Communicate complex architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

·         Support architecture governance by reviewing, validating, and approving solution architectures for enterprise compliance.

·         Develop business capability models and ensure technology roadmaps align with strategic, operational, and regulatory objectives.

·         Collaborate across business, application, data, and infrastructure domains to deliver integrated enterprise solutions.

·         Influence without direct authority, serving as a trusted advisor to IT leadership and cross-functional partners.

Required Skills & Experience:

·         Minimum of 6 years of professional IT experience with a bachelor’s degree, or

·         10 years of professional IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Strong experience in application development and modernization initiatives.

·         Hands-on expertise with enterprise reference architectures and technology standards.

·         Proven experience designing APIs and secure system integrations.

·         Cloud solution architecture experience, preferably with Microsoft Azure.

·         Experience developing and executing technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.

·         Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for diverse stakeholder groups.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

·         Enterprise architecture or cloud certifications such as TOGAF 9.x, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Salesforce Certified Application Architect.

·         Experience working within state or federal government environments.

·         Familiarity with low-code platforms, particularly Appian (case management, workflow automation, regulatory systems).

·         Experience with Salesforce, geospatial systems, or regulatory and public-sector data standards.
