Genesis10 is currently seeking a Hadoop Production Support Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is for a production support environment where the ideal candidate must be able to self-manage their work, take initiative to troubleshoot issues, identify resolutions independently, and find opportunities for optimization and automation.
Responsibilities: - Troubleshoot and resolve issues within a Hadoop production support environment
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation
- Perform strong data and code analysis to find root causes for data quality and integrity issues
- Take initiative to independently manage production support tasks and resolutions
Requirements: - Solid Unix skills including Bash Scripting commands
- Solid SQL language skills
- Solid Hadoop skills with production support experience in a DevOps environment
- Experience or exposure to Spark development, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Experience with Hadoop troubleshooting from a production support perspective
- Strong data and code analysis skills for troubleshooting data quality and integrity
Desired skills: - Decent Java skills
- Decent Python skills
- Automated testing experience with Cucumber
- Experience with Agile tools such as Jenkins
- Functional knowledge of Credit Risk
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
