Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting cybersecurity initiatives, helping to protect company systems, networks, and data. The ideal candidate is passionate about information security, eager to learn, and interested in gaining practical exposure in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with monitoring security systems and alerts to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities
- Support vulnerability assessments, security scans, and risk analyses
- Help investigate security incidents and document findings
- Participate in maintaining and updating security policies, procedures, and documentation
- Assist with user access reviews and identity management processes
- Conduct research on emerging cybersecurity threats, tools, and best practices
- Support awareness initiatives, including employee cybersecurity training and communications
- Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams on security-related tasks and projects
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as network security, encryption, firewalls, and endpoint protection
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking fundamentals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or projects related to cybersecurity, ethical hacking, or information assurance
- Exposure to tools such as SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, or endpoint detection software
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Relevant certifications (or in progress), such as CompTIA Security+ or Network+

The target salary range for this position is - annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands.
