Description

Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for a mid-level structural engineer in support of projects in our Albuquerque, New Mexico office. The hired individual will support the Structural Engineering organization in markets such as DOE/DOD labs and campuses, education, healthcare, sports, and advanced manufacturing.

While this role's specific projects are located in Albuquerque, Martin/Martin's national footprint provides opportunities to work on projects around the country.

The successful candidate will develop expertise in a broad range of structural engineering skills, demonstrate a willingness to learn, work as part of a team, and produce high-quality designs for our clients.

A typical work week can include drawing development, project coordination, engineering calculations, construction administration tasks, and site visits. This position allows for interactions with owners, architects, and contractors as you build relationships throughout the project life cycle.

The Team

Our structural engineering teams provide custom solutions for new constructions and expansions, with a strong record in notable projects like Coors Field, the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine , and Harborcenter .

Responsibilities
  • Engage with clients and contractors as primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle.
  • Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high-quality project documentation using computer design and graphics software programs.
  • Act as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff regarding career development, design techniques, software, and code questions.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through project work and business development activities.

Requirements

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from an ABET accredited engineering/architecture curriculum
  • 4+ years of progressive engineering experience
  • 1 year of professional experience equivalencies include a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, OR passing the 16-hour NCEES structural engineering exam
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to work in the Albuquerque area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
  • Demonstrates ability to be in responsible charge of projects

  • Passed the 16-hour structural engineering exam
  • Successfully managed multiple projects and followed them from start of design to completion of construction
  • Effective at communicating and working with clients, jurisdictions, and colleagues

Working Conditions, Skills, and Abilities

This position is primarily physical in nature and is continually exposed to outside weather, completing a wide range of activities summarized herein. The following abilities are required:
  • Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
  • Walk, kneel, crawl, stoop, bend, and remain stationary for long periods of time
  • Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
  • Identify color
  • Read, communicate, and document in English
  • Determine and exchange accurate information
  • Move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

Compensation

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. This role's total compensation is inclusive of:
  • Base Salary
  • Base Salary Review: This role is eligible to participate in Martin/Martin's annual base salary increase review process.
  • Annual Bonus: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program.

Base salary review and increases, in addition to annual bonuses, are dependent on various factors, including a hired individual's job-level and annual company performance.
