Land Engineering Supervisor - Coordinators

Please Note: There will be an in-office presence expectation at 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA four (4) days per week and/or as additionally required.

Relocation assistance may be provided if needed & if you qualify.

This position is responsible for leading and supervising a team of project coordinators who oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of surveying and mapping activities. The role ensures timely and accurate completion of field and remote sensing (LiDAR) surveying/mapping services.

The supervisor provides guidance, removes obstacles, ensures workflow efficiency, and maintains high quality standards, compliance, and project delivery across all assigned initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Educational / License Requirements
  • Bachelor'ss Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Project/Construction Management, Surveying, or Geomatics preferred.
  • Georgia Registered Land Surveyor license preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Experience Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams or individuals engaged in technical work.
  • Experience in surveying, mapping, or project management preferred.
  • Construction experience preferred
  • Project management experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong technical understanding of land surveying, mapping workflows, and geospatial data management, including familiarity with industry standards, field-to-finish processes, and quality control requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-development skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate project coordinators in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Advanced project management skills, including scheduling, resource allocation, risk identification, and ensuring on-time, on-budget project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities, capable of translating technical information for non-technical audiences and facilitating smooth collaboration across engineering, field crews, and clients.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to resolve project issues, prioritize competing demands, and maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide leadership to Land Engineering staff, including performance management, coaching, goal setting, training, and professional development.
  • Guides and empowers project coordinators responsible for planning and managing surveying and mapping activities across company properties, including transmission rights-of-way, substations, generating plant sites, reservoirs, and related facilities.
  • Collaborates with internal customers such as Power Delivery (Transmission and Distribution), Land Acquisition, Environmental Affairs, and Generation.
  • Direct and coordinate activities related to budgeting, staffing, cost control, and goal achievement.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards and ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing surveying and mapping.
  • Assign major work projects and represent the organization in external professional and technical forums.
  • Ensure documentation and continuous improvement of workgroup procedures.
  • Oversee procurement, training, and supervision of Land Engineering's contract workforce, when needed.
