AI Solutions Architect

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Riverwoods, IL is seeking an experienced AI Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise AI solutions from concept through production deployment and ongoing operations.

Summary:
This role is responsible for architecting secure, scalable, supportable, and business-driven AI solutions that integrate seamlessly into enterprise applications, data platforms, and business processes. The ideal candidate brings a combination of hands-on technical expertise, architecture leadership, and practical experience delivering production AI solutions that create measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities:
* Design end-to-end AI solution architectures across Generative AI, Agentic AI, Machine Learning, Conversational AI, Intelligent Automation, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
* Translate business requirements into scalable solution designs covering AI models, agents, integrations, security, cloud infrastructure, data, observability, and support operations
* Architect production-ready AI solutions utilizing LLMs, RAG, AI agents, vector search, enterprise knowledge systems, and cloud-native services
* Establish architecture patterns for AI governance, security, observability, evaluation, and operational support
* Partner with business leaders, engineering teams, cybersecurity, data, infrastructure, and product stakeholders to drive successful delivery
* Evaluate AI technologies, platforms, models, frameworks, and vendors to ensure alignment with business and technical objectives
* Define architecture standards, solution patterns, technical documentation, and implementation guidance
* Ensure solutions meet requirements for performance, scalability, reliability, security, compliance, supportability, and cost efficiency
* Serve as a trusted technical advisor by clearly communicating architecture decisions, trade-offs, risks, and business value

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* 8+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Software Architecture, Platform Architecture, Data Architecture, or related senior technical roles
* Proven experience architecting and delivering production AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Agentic AI, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions
* Experience leading AI initiatives from business concept through deployment, operational transition, and ongoing support
* Deep understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), embeddings, retrieval, prompting strategies, AI agents, tool calling, structured outputs, and multimodal AI
* Strong knowledge of AI security, governance, privacy, risk management, and responsible AI practices
* Experience designing enterprise integrations using APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging, workflows, and modern cloud services
* Knowledge of LLMOps, MLOps, AgentOps, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, deployment, and lifecycle management practices
* Experience designing scalable and secure architectures across structured and unstructured data environments
* Ability to create solution architectures, technical designs, integration diagrams, technical requirements, and implementation guidance
* Demonstrated ability to evaluate when AI is the right solution and when alternative approaches provide greater value
* Experience with AI agents, orchestration frameworks, vector databases, knowledge graphs, model registries, evaluation frameworks, and AI gateways
* Experience supporting enterprise AI Centers of Excellence or large-scale digital transformation initiatives
* Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar agent integration standards

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
