- Serves as a subject matter expert and senior analyst within Connectivity and Collaboration Service (CCS).
- Upgrades the network operating system on a switch or router, configuring a switch and router to provide internal and external connectivity for a Data Center.
- Plans and organizes network infrastructure device operating systems software, software change control, performance optimization, and hardware and security study projects.
- Develops new models to analyze operations and evaluates new designs and/or equipment changes in order to accommodate projected workloads.
- Designs, develops, tests, and maintains specialized support software to include utilities.
- Manages networks using Solarwinds / Orion monitoring and mapping tools; Configures High Availability within a Cisco NXOS Data Center environment.
- Creates cost benefit studies for the potential purchase of IT hardware and software.
- Interprets best practice documentation developing the configuration files/scripts for implementation.
- Writes and maintains system documentation for network infrastructure installed in the data centers.
- Analyzes and documents requirements for operating system software and related third party software, software change control, performance software, hardware, and related technical considerations for the network equipment.
- Develops and maintains standards and procedures related to hardware/software architecture and network security matters.

Work Schedule: M-F 8:30am-4pm, at managers discretion.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: hands on experience in configuring network infrastructure and providing Network support for enterprise data centers utilizing switches, routers, firewalls, load balancing, and LAN.
