We are currently seeking a Data & Analytics Consulting Snr. Cnslt. to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee (US-TN), United States (US).

Position Summary
The Senior Data Engineer designs, develops, deploys, and supports secure, scalable data engineering applications, data pipeline products for ingestion and transformation, and shared platform capabilities within an enterprise data and analytics environment. This role combines strong Java and Python engineering expertise with Kubernetes, cloud, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, data integration, and operational monitoring.
The successful candidate will build reliable, production-grade data products and engineering capabilities that enable data solutions at scale. This individual will work effectively across engineering, platform, security, architecture, and business teams, and clearly communicate technical solutions, tradeoffs, and risks to varied stakeholders.
Work Location

This role is open to candidates willing to work onsite from NTT DATA's Nashville, Tennessee, or Plano, Texas office.

Day-to-Day Job Duties

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable data engineering applications, services, and shared platform capabilities.
• Build and support data pipeline products for ingestion, integration, transformation, and delivery.
• Develop production-quality solutions using Java and Python.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Build, maintain, and support CI/CD pipelines, with Jenkins as a primary day-to-day platform; leverage GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD tools where appropriate.
• Develop and support infrastructure-as-code solutions using OpenTofu and Terraform.
• Build and operate cloud-based data solutions on AWS, applying appropriate AWS security practices.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot data flows using Apache NiFi or comparable data-flow platforms.
• Monitor application and platform availability, performance, and reliability using Prometheus or comparable observability platforms.
• Diagnose complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and independently drive issues through resolution.
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, security, architecture, and business stakeholders to define and deliver technical solutions.
• Explain technical concepts, architecture decisions, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, including solution designs, operational procedures, and deployment guidance.

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on experience with OpenTofu and 4+ years of experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools and practices.
• 4+ years of experience with Kubernetes.
• 4+ years of experience developing and supporting production Java applications. Experience with Java 11 or later is preferred; strong Java 8 candidates with demonstrated modern Java and enterprise application-development experience will be considered.
• 4+ years of experience using Git-based source-control platforms, such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or similar.
• 4+ years of experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or similar platforms; hands-on Jenkins experience is strongly preferred, as Jenkins is a primary CI/CD platform used by the team.

Required Skills

• Experience developing production-quality solutions using Python, particularly in data engineering or analytics environments.
• Experience with Docker and containerized application delivery.
• Experience designing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based solutions on AWS.
• Knowledge of AWS security practices, including secure access, identity, and deployment principles.
• Experience with data ingestion, integration, transformation, and pipeline development.
• Experience with Apache NiFi and Prometheus, or comparable data-flow and observability platforms, with the ability to quickly become productive in the team's toolset.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue-resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership of deliverables.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, solution designs, operational procedures, and deployment guidance.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.

Travel

• Travel requirements, if any, will be determined based on business and project needs.

Nice to Have

• Experience with enterprise-scale data pipelines, cloud database platforms, database administration, streaming, replication, resiliency, or performance engineering.
• Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Cassandra, Microsoft SQL Server, CockroachDB, Kafka, or Flink.
• Experience with Splunk, JMeter, Udeploy, or related platform, CI/CD, and observability tools.
• Experience with data modeling, solution design, data warehousing, data governance, metadata management, data lineage, data quality, data privacy, or data protection.
• Experience with Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience working across technical and business teams in a large enterprise environment.

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting hourly range for this remote role is ($70-$77/hour).  This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
