Engineer Senior

Job DescriptionWhat you'll do:- Work on Fault Analysis team that conducts engineering analyses during system outages to enhance customer satisfaction and review all bulk electric system outages across the system to assess whether operations operated correctly.
- Identify root causes of system failures or malfunctions by examining data, conducting investigations, and utilizing analytical techniques to pinpoint protective relay issues on the Bulk Electric System.
- Review oscillography from protective relay schemes to determine fault type, fault duration, fault magnitudes, and whether the substation protective relaying operated as designed.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of faults and incidents, including detailed sequences of events for future reference and analysis.
- Ensure that the analysis and reporting processes meet regulatory compliance requirements and industry standards.
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to share findings and recommend improvements to prevent future occurrences.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing analysis results, insights, and recommendations, and present these findings to stakeholders for decision-making purposes.
What we're looking for:Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited* electrical engineering program and 6 years of electrical engineering experience or alternatively, a Master's degree in an ABET-accredited electrical engineering program and 4 years of electrical engineering experience including the following:
- Relay Manufacturer software and Fault Analysis Tools such as AcSELerator Quickset, AcSELerator RTAC, SEL Compass, GE Entervista UR Setup, WaveWin, and SEL SynchroWAVe
- Experience with different P&C schemes, such as different line protections, transformer protections, generator, and bus protections.
*ABET - Electrical Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Non-ABET accredited bachelor's degree in electrical engineering must be accompanied by an advanced degree in electrical engineering from a university with an ABET accredited bachelor degree program in electrical engineering. Non-ABET accredited advanced degrees in electrical engineering must be from a university with an ABET accredited bachelor degree program in electrical engineering.
