Job Title: Data Centre Operations Lead Location: Rockville, MD (Day 1 Onsite) Open to relocation (Rockville, MD / Princeton, NJ)
Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Operations Lead to manage and optimize enterprise data center environments. This role involves leading operations, ensuring high availability, driving incident resolution, and managing infrastructure across on-prem and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead data center operations team and act as escalation point
Manage end-to-end infrastructure: VMware, VxRail, Citrix, Azure, AD/SSO, Windows & Linux servers
Oversee daily operations, system performance, and uptime
Drive major incident management and root cause analysis
Implement security policies, compliance (ISO 27001, HIPAA), and vulnerability management
Manage monitoring tools (LogicMonitor, Moogsoft) and automation initiatives
Handle capacity planning, performance optimization, and cost efficiency
Lead disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning
Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders
Maintain documentation and reporting

Required Skills & Experience:

10+ years in data center operations, with 5+ years in leadership roles
Strong expertise in Active Directory, Azure AD, SSO, PKI (L3/L4)
Experience with VMware, VxRail, Citrix, Networking (DNS/DHCP)
Strong Windows Server administration; Linux is a plus
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
Knowledge of monitoring/AIOps tools and automation (PowerShell/scripting)
Strong incident, change, and problem management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, or Storage
ITIL framework knowledge
Experience with backup, storage, and Intune/laptop management
