Major Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Budget Alignment
Partner with manager and team finance support to define annual budget requirements for systems engineering development programs
Support budget planning, including regional cohort funding, travel, and external consulting investments
Ensure alignment of program spend with enterprise priorities
Cost Model & Investment Governance
Maintain and validate systems engineering development programs cost structure (course fees, travel, instructor costs, regional delivery)
Provide guidance on cost allocation and cross-charging to Functions/BUs
Support financial governance, including external consulting engagements
Demand & Funding Alignment with Program Project Manager
Identify funding gaps or risks that could impact cohort viability
Partner with systems engineering development programs project manager to support decision-making on cohort go/no-go based on financial and participation thresholds
Investment Tracking & Reporting
Track systems engineering development programs spend against budget across regions and cohorts
Partner with systems engineering development programs project manager to provide regular reporting on participation, cost per participant, and overall program investment
Support transparency of financial data for leadership review
Value & ROI Support
Partner with Tech Talent COE to define and evolve measurement approaches linking capability investment to business outcomes
Support development of financial narratives around value, including cost avoidance (rework, delays, integration issues)
Provide input to leadership discussions on program continuation and scaling
Day-to-Day Activities
Maintain program budget tracker - Weekly
Monitor actual vs forecast spend and flag variances - Monthly
Validate participant funding and cost center alignment - Per Cohort / Ongoing
Support cross-charging and resolve billing issues - Daily
Partner with program project manager on demand vs funding alignment - Weekly
Required Skills & Prior Experience
3 5 years experience in finance, program financial management, or business support roles
Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking in a corporate environment
Strong Microsoft Office experience, especially:
o Excel (financial tracking, forecasting, reporting)
o PowerPoint (financial summaries for leadership)
Familiarity with financial systems, cost centers, and cross-charging processes
Ability to work cross-functionally with development program leader, project manager, and finance stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to translate financial data into clear insights for non-finance audiences
Comfortable working in a dynamic, global, and cross-regional environment
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
