Senior Network Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support the design, deployment, troubleshooting, and operation of our ISP network infrastructure. This is a senior, hands-on technical role responsible for executing complex network deployments, resolving high-level escalations, and maintaining network reliability and performance. The ideal candidate has deep experience working in ISP or service provider environments and is comfortable troubleshooting complex routing, switching, and SD-WAN scenarios in production networks. This engineer will work closely with the Data Team Lead and other engineering staff to implement network improvements, support customer deployments, and ensure the stability and scalability of the company’s infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Escalation & Troubleshooting
- Serve as an escalation point for complex network issues
- Troubleshoot production problems across core, distribution, access, and edge layers
- Diagnose and resolve routing, switching, and SD-WAN-related incidents
- Participate in root cause analysis for major incidents and outages
- Network Deployments & Installations
- Execute customer network installs, hardware deployments, and network upgrades
- Support backbone and transit circuit turn-ups
- Assist with SD-WAN deployments and provisioning
- Validate configurations to ensure installs follow internal standards
- Provide technical guidance to field technicians and dispatch teams
- Operational Support
- Monitor network health and respond to alerts
- Participate in maintenance windows and infrastructure upgrades
- Maintain configuration consistency and documentation
- Assist with improving operational procedures and configuration standards
Requirements
Required Technical Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in ISP, carrier, or service provider networking environments
- Strong Tier 3 troubleshooting experience in production networks
- Deep knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, quality of service, and traffic shaping
- Experience working with Arista, MikroTik, Cisco, and Aruba platforms
- Strong understanding of SD-WAN architectures and operational models
- Experience supporting networks with uptime and SLA expectations
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues under pressure
- Experience with SD-WAN platforms (Fortinet, Cisco, VeloCloud, or similar)
- Experience coordinating with transit providers and peering partners
- Familiarity with fiber circuit turn-ups and optical transport
- Experience with network monitoring, alerting systems, and ticketing platforms
Preferred Skills: Arista, Border Gateway Protocol, ISP, MPLS, Network Design, OSPF, Routers, SD, Fortinet, Mikrotik
