The Technical Lead / Solution Architect is responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions while providing hands-on leadership to engineering teams. This role bridges architecture strategy and execution by translating business needs into implementable technical solutions and guiding delivery from design through production stability. The position drives architecture standards, modern engineering practices, and technical governance across application, integration, data, and cloud environments. Success in this role requires strong architectural depth, delivery ownership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Design end-to-end technical solutions aligned with business and enterprise architecture standards.
Define system architecture across application services, APIs and integrations, data architecture, cloud infrastructure, and security and scalability requirements.
Produce architecture artifacts including solution diagrams, integration patterns, data flows, and non-functional requirement definitions.
Evaluate technology choices and recommend appropriate platforms and frameworks.
Act as the primary technical leader for assigned programs or product domains.
Guide engineering teams on architecture implementation and best practices.
Make critical design decisions balancing scalability, performance, cost, and maintainability.
Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence to architectural principles.
Provide hands-on support in complex development areas when required.
Establish coding standards, design patterns, and engineering practices.
Review code and technical deliverables for quality and alignment.
Support troubleshooting of complex production issues.
Collaborate with Delivery Managers and Product Owners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Break down architecture into implementable technical workstreams.
Identify technical risks and mitigation strategies early.
Support estimation, capacity planning, and sprint execution.
Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including microservices architecture, API-first design, event-driven systems, DevOps and CI/CD automation, and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
Ensure systems are resilient, scalable, and secure.
Work closely with Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Cloud teams, Security and Compliance, QA, and Operations.
Communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture and security standards.
Champion performance optimization and operational excellence.
Lead technical debt management and modernization initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
8-12+ years of software engineering experience.
3-5+ years in technical leadership or solution architecture roles.
Strong expertise in:
Distributed systems architecture
API and integration design
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
Microservices and REST/event-driven architecture
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (.NET, Python, Node.js, etc.).
Preferred (Optional):
Experience modernizing legacy or monolithic applications.
Knowledge of domain-driven design (DDD).
Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
Exposure to enterprise integration patterns and messaging platforms.
Architecture certifications (AWS/Azure Architect, TOGAF, etc.).

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $65 - $75 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
