Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Solar Technical Reviewer with 10+ years of solar or electrical construction experience to support the NY-Sun Program and energy-storage initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of NYS Uniform Codes, NEC, and Fire Codes, along with experience reviewing solar designs, inspections, and code compliance.

Required Skills

10+ years of solar/electrical construction experience
Strong knowledge of NYS Uniform Codes and NEC
Experience with residential solar PV and battery storage
Bachelor's degree with an engineering background
Excellent communication and customer/contractor interaction skills
Experience reviewing:

Solar designs
Wiring diagrams
Site plans
Inspection reports
Corrective-action responses

Experience working with solar installers, contractors, inspectors, and customers

Preferred Certifications

NYS Professional Engineer (PE)
NABCEP PV Installation Professional
UL PV System Installer
IBEW Journeyman + 40-hour PV training

Responsibilities

Review solar PV and energy-storage designs for code compliance
Support contractors, installers, inspectors, and customers with technical questions
Review failed inspections and corrective-action responses
Investigate customer complaints and coordinate resolutions
Perform QA and code-compliance reviews
Research applicable building, electrical, and fire codes
Support NY-Sun program documentation, training, and guidebook updates
Review incentive-plan and building-code requirements
Apply NYS Uniform Codes and National Electrical Codes
Support battery energy-storage and solar PV projects

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior solar or electrical professional with extensive field and technical experience who can bridge the gap between solar contractors, installers, inspectors, customers, and program stakeholders. Strong experience with NYS codes, residential solar PV, battery storage, inspections, technical design reviews, and code compliance will be highly valued.
