Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Testing Manager to support a large-scale enterprise systems implementation involving SAP integrations and coordinated testing across multiple parallel transformation initiatives. This role will take ownership of test governance, strategy, and execution oversight across cross-functional project teams.
The Testing Manager will work closely with internal IT leadership, business stakeholders, and implementation partners to ensure alignment of testing standards, timelines, and quality metrics. This position requires strong hands-on test management leadership and daily onsite collaboration with project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Strategy & Planning
• Define and support the overall testing strategy across implementation phases
• Establish test scope, objectives, timelines, and success criteria
• Develop and maintain the master test plan
• Identify testing risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Oversee creation of test scenarios, cases, and supporting data
• Ensure alignment with business requirements and acceptance criteria
• Plan and manage testing resource capacity
Test Governance & Quality Assurance
• Establish testing standards, processes, and best practices
• Define and monitor entry/exit criteria across test phases
• Track test coverage, traceability, and defect trends
• Drive continuous improvement across testing execution
Test Management Tool Ownership
• Configure and manage test management tools (suites, workflows, permissions)
• Define dashboards and KPI reporting
• Support stakeholder adoption and usage of testing tools
• Maintain consistency and data quality within the platform
Defect Management
• Define defect lifecycle standards and severity classifications
• Coordinate defect triage sessions
• Monitor root causes and resolution progress
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
• Serve as primary point of contact for testing activities
• Provide status reporting across progress, risks, and quality metrics
• Communicate proactively with project leadership and stakeholders
• Escalate blockers and dependencies as needed
Additional Requirements:
• Strong SAP program testing leadership experience preferred
• Experience supporting large enterprise transformation initiatives
• Ability to work onsite in Chicago, IL (100%)
• Availability to start immediately
• Strong coordination skills across multiple implementation partners
Bonus Skill: Visualfabriq experience is a big plus
