SAP Functional Expert – Logistics / EWM (Extended Warehouse Management)

Overview:
Seeking an experienced SAP Logistics Functional Expert specializing in the Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) module to join our Supply Chain/Logistics team. The successful candidate will partner with business stakeholders to understand logistics and warehouse management requirements, define and configure SAP EWM solutions, support implementation of 2-3 small to medium projects in the near term, and drive long-term operational excellence. The role is on-site in Danvers, MA and may convert to a direct hire depending on business needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with business partners to capture and refine logistics / warehouse management requirements (put away, picking, goods receipt, shipping, inventory management, work-centres, handling units)
Translate business requirements into functional specifications, configuration settings, and technical design documents for SAP EWM
Configure SAP EWM (and integrate with SAP S/4HANA, WM/IM, MM, SD, possibly GTS) to support warehouse operations and logistics flows
Lead or participate in 2-3 small to medium projects (0-30 / 60 / 90-day horizons): blueprinting, design, testing (unit, integration, user acceptance), go-live support and hypercare
Validate and test solutions to ensure alignment with documented business processes, perform functional testing and support user training and documentation
Monitor system performance and drive continuous improvement of logistics processes to increase efficiency, predictability and cost savings
Maintain master data integrity in support of automated warehouse processes
Serve as liaison between logistics business users, IT/development teams, and external systems (third-party warehouses, integration points)
Provide on-going support and troubleshooting for SAP EWM post-go-live; escalate issues and support remediation as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field (Master’s preferred)
5 + years of hands-on SAP logistics / warehouse management experience in a manufacturing, distribution or supply chain environment
Strong functional and technical experience with SAP EWM module (configuration, integration, business process design) — examples of actual project implementations or rollouts preferred
Good understanding of logistics and warehouse operations: goods receipt, staging, picking, packing, shipping, inventory, handling units, RF/mobile devices, automation
Demonstrated ability to work with business stakeholders and translate requirements into SAP solutions
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities
On-site in Danvers, MA (or local to the region) and able to engage in virtual interviews; flexible start date
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and support multiple business tracks simultaneously
Desired / Differentiating Skills
Experience in the med-tech, life-sciences, or FDA-regulated industry is a plus (familiarity with GMP, CFR 21 Part 11, SOX)
SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration experience
Experience with third-party warehouse systems / non-SAP integration
Exposure to SAP GTS or international trade modules
Experience working in global or EMEA warehouse/logistics environments
Hands-on experience with user training, change management, documentation and master data governance
