Summary
Job Title : IT Network Engineer III
Location: Charlotte NC/Corning NY (Hybrid - 2 days onsite)
Duration: 12+ Months possible extension
** DOR/ITAR Required - This is an DOD/ITAR facility.
Travel Requirement: Potential travel of up to 30%, which may include international destinations. During critical projects may be higher.
Top Required Skills:
- Advanced routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, Cisco & Arista)
- Network automation & Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, APIs, Terraform)
- Wireless network engineering (MIST preferred)
Must-Have Skills:
- Advanced expertise in enterprise routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco and Arista switching platforms
- Deep understanding of LAN and SD-WAN architectures
- Network automation using Ansible, Python, RESTful APIs, and IaC principles
- Wireless network design and management (enterprise-grade)
- Strong troubleshooting, optimization, and performance tuning skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to collaborate across cross-functional and global teams
- Experience supporting production networks and participating in on-call rotations
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Hands-on experience with MIST wireless solutions
- Cloud and hybrid networking experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- Arista certifications (ACE L5 or higher)
- CCNP or equivalent networking certifications
- Manufacturing or OT (Operational Technology) network experience
- Financial acumen for budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor management
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design, implement, and optimize advanced network architectures using Cisco, Arista, and MIST platforms
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise routing and switching environments
- Architect, deploy, and manage wireless network infrastructure with a focus on performance and reliability
- Develop and maintain network automation workflows using Ansible, Terraform, APIs, and scripting tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network solutions with business objectives
- Create and maintain network documentation, standards, and operating procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer
- Strong experience in enterprise network design, deployment, and operations
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in fast-paced environments
- Willingness to participate in on-call support rotation
